Once this was completed, I did some touch up paint work, painted the model with two coats of dull coat, and then glued down the canopy. Here's how it looks completed:

...and finally some higher resolution pics of the aircraft:

...and that completes my EA-198G Growler Electronic Warfare aircraft for the US Navy. A very nice aircraft and a good model.

The new build EA-18G Growler aircraft, which are so much like the F/A-18F Super Hornet, but specifically built for the EW role, remind me of the way the F-15E Strike Eagle was developed from the F-15 Eagle and turned into a strike aircraft. Like the EA-18G, they were new builds, not modifications of the other aircraft. It is true that the first demonstrator was a rebuilt F-15A Prototype, but all prototype and production aircraft were complete new builds with a lot of modifications made to carry more fuel and more armament weight, while retaining all the fighter/air dominance capabilities.

The EA-18 is similar in that they look very much like the F/A-18F, but they too are new, special build aircraft. if loaded up with AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles the EA-18G has the flight characteristics to engage in the air dominance role...but it is specially made for Electronic Warfare and strike missions associated with that.

Well...onward and forward!
