So, with the on deck mock-ups and additional flight testing, signs are that the J-35 will be available at commissioning, or is there major argument against that?

When the catapult tests were caught, there was some general agreement that KJ-600 and J-35 was a bit MIA prior to that, so seemingly they are waiting for sea trials.

One way to make sure could be if there's any navigational alert/warning issued by the Shanghai MSA of the CMSA (China Maritime Safety Administration).

Moving such massive ship out from pier-side into the ever-busy mouth of Yangtze should be accompanied with the release of a navigational alert/warning at least a day prior, IMO.

Correct, this is not a first. Same as on Shandong, which fired up her boilers for the first time long before her first sea trial.

That said, given all the talk about an imminent trial it does make sense to prep the engines again obviously.
