if the deck is 20m high, it will take 2 sec to hit water. At 300km/h, the buggy will travel arround 160m.


Thanks a lot, So whatever they launch with the catapult, it will „fly“ roughly half the length of the carrier?

So from its current position, such tests could be done when that „swimming whatever“ (just lost the name in English) has been relocated?

But - and please my lack of understanding - will such tests usually be done before or after the first sea trials?

But as pointed out by @foolsball "The unobstructed version allows a relatively clear view of the orange objects on the pier and near the catapult amidships."

As such it looks indeed as if these "could" be preparations for the first catapult test.
