There are many fans who wishfully tie the launch dates of aircraft carriers, new stealth jets etc with dates of importance like anniversaries/commemorative dates. The original posters usually post these dates as light hearted jokes, but more and more people tend to believe them.

I don't think PLA/PLAN/PLAAF like to put launch dates of their new toys on predictable date of events, but fans are a different breed.
Have any previous major launches actually corresponded to important dates?

Is their wishful thinking actually based on historical facts?

003 will definetly give China the sortie rate, range and bombs on target that both CV-16 and CV-17 cant do

if we get 36 x J15 on the deck of 003 it could project equal power of both CV-16 and CV-17 with 24 x J15 each

With CATOBAR you just have so much more power projection

I hope 003B is also on the cards

then China can follow with a 004 and 004A a true 100,000+ ton CVN with 48 x J35

that will truly rival the Ford Class CVN

More like link to the traditional proverb of 双喜临门 meaning having a succession of double happiness. Chinese folks love double happiness for thousands of years.

However, in military It is not tradition of PLA to do so, because doing that will give enemy ample time to plan and to send swarms of spies on the ground and in the air, as in the provocative and aggressive act of US spy plane yesterday (the rumoured launch date of 003) close to JNCX shipyard where 003 is being buit. Remember Sun Tze art of war.

IMHO, positions of the lifts and island aren't good. They take too much deck and don't allow parking of enough planes on the deck. There's room for just around 10-12 aircrafts on deck ( without impairing the flight operations ), too little number IMO.

Model is not really super accurate, best to use the satellite imagery for counting parking spots.

I am counting 17 plane spots (if one plane on elevator) with the landing strip clear. Two more spots for forward catapults would result in 19 plane spots. If one plane is landing that's 20 spots. With enough added space for deck vehicles. Though no extra space for helicopters, so likely one plane would have to be deducted so two helicopters could be parked somewhere on deck.
Of course, "a plane" here means both a fighter jet or an AEW plane. when folded, AEW plane should take up roughly the same area.

Hangar, assuming it's not much wider than the 002 one but is some 20-ish m longer, should be able to house 18 more planes and several more helicopters.

So... lets say 3 AEW planes and 34 flanker sized planes? Alongside 4 or so SAR/utility helicopters? (ASW helicopters would be better served operating from escort ships anyway) That's a fairly conservative estimate. Hangar may be wider.
