Looks like there is another large ship being built in front of the carrier, the carrier cannot be launched without launching that ship first.
Maybe they've decided to complete her as much as possible prior to launch.

That piece of a cargo ship can be float out of there to launch the carrier. There is not enough space now to complete the cargo ship.

That module of the container ship in front of 003 can be completed in less than 1 month. It will be floated out to join another module sitting at the next dry dock (dry dock #3). Soon there could be another ship module going into dry dock #4 where 003 is located.

That will have to be floated and moved somewhere where it can join other modules. This ship when completed, is too big to stay in that dock. Its either a CMA CGN Jacques Saade class or Evergreen A class container ship --- each alone is almost 400 meters long. The A class when completed, would be the biggest containership in the world according to TEU, for this ship alone, nearly 24k. The drydock left to 003 appears to have both a Jacques Saade class container ship and another portion of the Evergreen A class.

They have completed at least one other module like that before and floated it out elsewhere for final assembly of a civilian hull. In any case I dont think Type 003 launch is all that close. I am still betting on a date early next year.

I think so too. I also think most people agree that 003 will be launched early next year.
