seems like an oversight by placing the blast deflector right next to the elevator. i realize realistically you won't be using that cat along with that elevator at the same time anyways, but Ford at least gives you that potential capability, whereas 003 completely shuts that down. what do you guys think?
One only needs to see the history of USN carrier configurations to see what he's saying is rubbish.
As for the idea of having greater separation between the JBD and the elevator -- while it has benefits, it also depends on whether the length of the bow can accommodate the positioning of the catapult in that manner.
To arrange the catapult significantly "forward" of the elevator like on the Ford class requires a longer ship in the first place.
In other words, the arrangement of their catapults and elevators is the most logical and sensible one with the dimensions available to them.
Also, can we please avoid citing this guy's tweets with any sort of seriousness?
He sometimes is the first to post new pictures, but his signal to noise ratio is terrible and obviously doesn't know what he's talking about and is not careful at all about what he says.
