Realistic and probable or two different things.
Ah, I see. Thanks.HI changed that after some feedback. A launch this year I dont think is very realistic.
The shape of 003 is just a guess right? Is the flight deck shape publicly known?Again an interesting read written by H.I. Sutton and published at the NavalNews:
"China’s New Aircraft Carrier Is In Same League As US Navy’s Ford Class The Chinese Navy is radically modernizing its capabilities. Chief among these are a fleet of aircraft carriers. A new satellite image clearly shows the Type-003 aircraft carrier taking shape in Shanghai, and it is the largest so far.

"Exact outline to be confirmed." - Yeah, its a pure guess. I am reminded a bit of the Forrestal-class in overall shape. Maybe that was what he was using as baseline. The shape of 003 is just a guess right? Is the flight deck shape publicly known?
He says the diagrams aren't meant to be exact, just show an overall comparison. Which IMO is fair since it's hard to get exact measurements from a photo. The shape of 003 is just a guess right? Is the flight deck shape publicly known?
It's real nice to finally see a clear overhead sat pic of 003, one that's not blurry.Again an interesting read written by H.I. Sutton and published at the NavalNews:

good stuff from Deino. keep up with the good work, mate. It's real nice to finally see a clear overhead sat pic of 003, one that's not blurry.
It's huge. I think 85.000 ton standard displacement is confirmed at this point.I know that the professionals and surveyors among you don't like such sketches and assessments ... but after a long day at work I just had to do something to distract me.
As such I'm open for any critics for this layman's try to compare the Type 002 carrier (May 2015) vs the Type 003 (March 2021).
