I'd first ask what "earlier than we thought" means. It has been predicted for a number of years that 002 would likely be commissioned in 2019

One thing that is concerning is that no additional J15 have been spotted

Logically the coating should have been applied since they already installed the arresting wire
I have no problem with no organic air wing seen yet . Following Liaoning precedent they will be formed 2 years after commissioning. Anyway they still have 6 or 7 prototype that can be gang press into service.New pic from LKJ86
