Well, well what we got here via LKJ86

Pls elaborate so layman like me can understand. What am I suppose to see here?
3 is the bare minimum for any carrier, even the USN with their vast experience in carrier aviation still uses 4 arresting cables across the deck. Reducing the number from 3 to 2 is insanity incarnate, because in normal carrier aviation the first cable is almost always a guaranteed miss. The PLAN did be seeing a lot of j-15 shaped reefs if that was to happen.Which is in line with PLAN's land based experience.

Maybe PLAN realized that 3 arresting cables setup is too risky for fresh Carrier aircraft pilot, not worth to reduce.
Still don’t get it... it’s a carrier! why wouldn’t it have the wires? Were they not there before?I think arresting wires, in other words, preparing for aircraft landing

Thanx for clarification... did not realize she didn’t have those before. They were not installed yet. The initial sea trials would not have needed the arresting wires.
The fact that they're installing them now may mean the subsequent sea trials may involve fixed wing aviation trials
