After more than one year and after the tenth sea trial on 02 SEP 2012 the number "16" was painted and the name "Liaoning" given.



So let's be patient until the 2nd Aircraft Carrier gets his hull number and name. It will take more than a year from now.

For CV-17 first sea trials apparently the area which has been designated was the same area which was used for the CV-16

The lights of CV-17 were light throughout the night which means workers are all going all out to get the carrier ready

The ceremony preparations are underway according to movements around the yard

Not being a killjoy but do members here really think that CV17 is ready for sea trials?.........i mean wasn't the vessel only launched a year ago?........based on the outfitting times of other Chinese warships, this would be a truly outstanding achievement to fit out a 70,000 ton vessel in this time, when in comparison it takes a year to finish off far smaller warships of only a few thousand tons.
Anyway, great if it happens!

I have the same feeling what are they waiting for ? They tested all the subcomponent there is no more excuse Let the show begin. It is morning now in Dalian and I see tugboat

Hehe, that's the anticipation I have for the J-XY fighter. Unfortunately that seems to be ~2 years away.

Now we can see 4 tugboats steering the CV 17. I see 5 total . one is on the right corner.
Is this dress rehearsal or real thing?
