And indeed, will there be war this winter? It is presumably up to EU to put enough pressure on Kiev but it does hold the purse strings.

Today remains of people have been found from the MH17 crash by Dutch searcher together with people from OSCE led by the local SES disaster service, according to the Dutch prime minister. I found this on the website of my favorite radio station. They apparently are not looking for evidence wrt the way the aircraft was destroyed.

Earlier today it was announced that the value of the Dutch export to Ukraine is this year half of what it was last year.

Still unable to find any information official turnout figures for the elections by region. Every article on the subject does state that the turnout in South and Eastern Regions; which formally returned communist or Party of Regions deputies was very low and that very large numbers have boycotted the poll.
At the very least, it seems certain that some 75% of voters in these regions have not participated in these elections and that in some areas the boycott was approaching 90%.

So all eyes now on tomorrows poll in Donetsk and Lugansk.

It is quite a configuration of forces, the poll, the military build up and ongoing tensions, the Russian recognition and the Ukrainian designing of part of the Minsk agreement, which all seem to push the situation back into open conflict, vs the Gas Deal which helps bring and holds all parties together.

Forces then in conflict? If so we may get a sense tomorrow of which forces are the most powerful and ascendant and the direction in which the Ukraine situation will be pulled.

This morning I'm closing several threads laced with political discussion. Where as we do not allow political discussion in this forum. Political discussion brings out the worst in people in my opinion...Lies, hate squabbling discourse & contention.

Some of you may ask why...here is why. I sent this email to WebMaster nine years ago.

Im very sorry but I'm not posting in sinodefense any longer. I just can't take the anti-American sentiment there.It's in almost every discussion. It's appalling particularly when coming from those in the discussion that live in the USA. It's one thing to have an opinion and a whole another thing to be completely biased.

If the forum members could stick to the facts and leave out all the political BS it would be much better...

It was nice trying to inject an objective point of view by my efforts have been futile with most. I did enjoy my correspondence there.

So I quit.

A thread on my email was established in the mod forum and after that discussion politics was squashed in this forum. Yes, it's old and the World has changed so has this forum..however I see the same things creeping in as they did nine years ago.

There are many other forums online that allow political discussion. Use them if you wish to discuss politics.
