I wouldn't be surprised if many Western countries have discussed with each other about not using any vaccines that did not come from a Western country. That would be a major hit on their reputations to do otherwise.

Its not a pissing/big-dick contest, I highly doubt China cares if the vaccine Western countries bought/developed is "better than ours". At the end of the day, the most basic human right is the right to live and survive.... And dare I say China has done a darn good job delivering on that end, especially as Europe and America faces the growing second wave. We could care less if our dick is smaller than yours, at least we'll be alive to tell the tale
The pandemic will outlast Trudeau and Jacinda's political fun and games while Asia makes a recovery, and they'll ultimately have to swallow their massive western supremecy egos and join the growing queue for Chinese vaccines - This might just be my patriotic imagination of rainbows and unicorns, but I thought I'd share my two cents
Not to get too far off-topic, but this is kind of inexcusable at this point in time.
I really do not understand how in this day and age, there are not more people with Mandarin fluency and literacy in the west. This is compounded by the fact that many people have not stepped foot in China ever. On reddit, a Human Rights Watch "China Expert" said she visited China in 1987! Putting her politics aside, how can anyone honestly call themselves "expert" in something, if they haven't touched it in 30 years? You can't be an expert just from reading!

Well, this is double standard. Maybe you have to live up with it just the way people have to live up with AIDS, and now COVID19.
There are going to be long term health impaces for COVID-19 (another reason why members here should always be careful and isolate when you can, at least until a vaccine is mass produced). Those long term health impacts are going to have downstream economic and genetic impacts as well-affecting even the health of soldiers.
