That is being naive, you are not factoring in the massive savings governments and company pension funds are making from COVID19 killing off pensioners en mass.
One really have to wonder if high elderly mortality rates wasn’t actually a feature and not a bug of a lot of the government planning for many of the more conservative governments in power.
The British were ridiculously negligent (to the point of defying credulity) in actively transferring patients from hospitals to care homes without any COVID19 screening beforehand ‘to free up beds’. It’s so bad I cannot even think of a more deliberately ridiculous and self defeating example to use to mock this decision.
The number of deaths in British care homes from COVID19 is nothing short of horrific, with those deaths not even being counted in national statistics until a public backlash.
In the US, it’s even more blatant, with deputy governors actually telling the elderly they should take one for the team and just die.
