Looks like Modi got played by Trump, tell me again why is he so popular?

If you really want to know why Modi is so popular in India please do open a new thread and I will reply.
And no Modi wasn't got played by trump as you clearly have missed some fine points-
1. According to the government India has the stockpile for this particular drug. The amount can be debated though.
2. The decision to lift the ban was declared before trump's press conference.
3. This export will not be applicable to every country.

The French doctors that said test vaccines on Africans were misquoted. They said Africans also need vaccine test to protect them as well.

I don't really understand from where the reference of Spain and Italy came? I thought they are still part of NATO and Euro. Do you have any latest update that they have left those organizations?

Not officially because they still battling the pandemic. But once it's over, damages will be assessed and that's the time.

This is your guess about what will happen in the future; I completely disagree. This is a lawsuit that so far doesn't exist and therefore cannot be countered. Like I said before, if it ever comes into being, it will be so ridiculous that 1. it can never win in international court and 2. no judge will even allow a hearing for it. Just YouTube the word, "Heroes of the Pandumbic." All the evidence that America did this to themselves is gathered there in one comedic clip.

It's concerning because majority of the citizens of so many countries want China to pay for it.

I need to see evidence in the form of a poll or something for you to say that the majority of certain populations feel that way. From what I see, only a few racist uneducated people feel that way.

It's not common sense at all. Is it "common sense" to buy your tools from Walmart, use them, then return them to save money? Is it "common sense" to find some stupid complaint about your food at the restaurant to get steep discounts? Is it "common sense" to take entire rolls of toilet paper from public restrooms so you don't have to buy your own? My your logic of doing anything for the chance to get some self-interest, they all are, but in reality, none of those things happen frequently enough to change the sale of tools, operation of restaurants or the stocking of public toilets. So no, it's not "common sense" to push fault onto others for nonsensical reasons and most people do check themselves with reality rather than just throw any temper tantrum or behave in irrational ways to try to get money whenever they can.

that's why you see asians being attacked by common people. It's pretty widespread.

I've never seen it much less experienced it (neither have I heard any complaints about it from any family or friends) and I don't think it's widespread at all. Just because the news reported it happening in a few states doesn't mean it's frequent or that it has the support of anything close to the majority of the population. They're still very much freak events linked to mentally unstable individuals.

The doctors apologized because they didn't want to argue with the press. You should read the original transcript of the original interview. The doctors clearly stated that any french vaccine should be tested in France and Africa beacuse Africa have weak medical infastructure so the vaccine can work on them as well.

You said in another post China is only helping the poor countries, I'm giving you Spain and Italy as counter examples.

If the drug works, India should be producing massive amounts of it and saving it for Indians. Then with excess, they can export to whomever they want. The fact that India have a stockpile, but most likely not enough for however many people in India is going to get covid since there are 1B+ people and a ton of spread.

Funny how you say export will not be to every country, how you think that will affect Indian softpower? All those guys cut off will be thinking India is an American lackey, or not friendly or something they make up.

Also doesn't most Indian pharmaceutical companies get their base medical ingredients from China? Now what if China decided to stop exporting?

1. Because Indian government believes that it has the necessary stock for its people. I clearly mentioned that in my previous post the amount of the stock is debatable since we don't know how much will be required if at all it is useful (as stated by Dr Fauci).
2. Right now >20 countries have requested India to provide this medicine of which India is the largest producer. If it happens that a certain country's request is denied then we will see what happens to the soft-power you are so concerned of.
3. It's called API. If China decides to stop the export then that will be another feather in China's cap. I don't honestly expect/wish China to shoot her foot, again. So if she does that we can talk then.

Geez it's now getting tiresome. The 'foolish' doctor didn't want to antagonize the press. I understand.
As I cannot read French so I am in position to decide what exactly he said. Some publications had said that he used racist comments against African people and the doctor apologized. I don't see the reason why I should learn French to understand what exactly the doctor said. For some unknown reason you do. Could you please do us favour as we have been discussing this way off topic thing for quite some time. Please have a short phone call with the doc and get to know what exactly he said. Straight from the horse's mouth! Thereafter share the transcript with your valuable annotations.
We can decide then whether the doc actually said anything racist at all.


Regarding the helping part. Don't mind but I have started to believe that you may not have good comprehension skills as far as English language is concerned. Please read carefully what I said. I said that most of China's allies are developing nations. Helping a country doesn't make it an ally. In various cases China has helped Japan and vice versa. Does that mean they are allies? Of course not. Similarly China has helped Italy and Spain. Does that mean they are allies?
