Demand still exceeds supply at this moment. It's fine that middle income countries like Thailand are moving to expensive vaccine as poor countries cannot afford those (and the required cold chain). China should focus on vaccinating poorer countries.

China is doing a lot of studies on heterologous boosters to inactivated vaccines. Just sell inactivated vaccines with promises of booster shots in the future.

I am of the belief that China shouldn't attempt reopening until most vaccinated have received a booster shot. Remember the difference between 80% efficacy at preventing hospitalization and 90% efficacy at preventing hospitalization is huge. The later reduces hospitalization by half compared to the former. China just need more real-world data on boosters.

The West forgets how they failed when self-declaring they were the best at handling outbreaks. Still dictating to other countries to save face when they let their own citizens dies for COVID-19 politics. So do you think they really care about preventing COVID-19 transmission or do they actually want an outbreak so they can claim China failed to cover up how they failed. Every time there's a small cluster of cases in China, they're already blaring out China is going to be swamped and COVID-19 is going to get out of control and of course it gets controlled quickly.

Most likely a Rare case of Severe AEFI but authorities cant publicly say that as it will create vaccine hesitancy. Feel bad for the mother who had to run to Beijing to get answers . Clear case of failure of Local authorities in handling the sensitive situation.
