More contradiction. I saw an article a couple weeks back that people in China are upset that they can't get the vaccine when China was shipping its vaccine to other countries which contradicted a story before that charged China was going to vaccinate it's own people while ignoring the rest of the world.

@KYli Yup our Filipino Chinese Association in action with the help of the Chinese embassy, I will be inoculated mid April instead of this week due to late action of our FDA. $40 for 2 doses. Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) president Henry Lim Bon Liong is a student of Yuan Longping the father of Chinese hybrid rice.

$40 for 2 doses? US dollar? Fortunately I live in Cambodia, our vaccination program up to now is free of charge.

Unlike Cambodia which has a very low coronavirus cases. Both Indonesia and Philippines have been hardest hit by coronavirus in SEA. Businesses can't rely upon their government for vaccination as it would take too long. Their government have decided to allow companies and groups to import vaccines to speed up the vaccination progress. So that companies can get their factories running without interruption and businesses and groups can get things back to normal early. Government on the other hand won't need to pay and procure for the vaccines.

@SteelBird yes like @KYli said we can't wait, per capita basis we are richer than your country but your gov't services is better than ours, there is something wrong with the way our so called democracy has been functioning.

It's probably highly corrupt contrary to what they think of themselves. These drug companies aren't doing it from the bottom of their hearts. It could be "free" for those countries that need it but somebody is getting paid and the trouble is probably also from what companies are lobbying what politicians to get the contract. The US usually is guilty of what it accuses China so are they picky of which countries will get vaccines and demand political concessions?

Just think, it was less than 10 years ago that you could patent the discovery of genetic sequences.
If the laws were as they were in 2012, China could have claimed rights over the sequencing of the coronavirus and none of these companies could make a vaccine without possibly being sued.
