Was this the exploding phone that went BOOM and got recalled?By the way, has anyone here purchased Samsung Galaxy Note 7?
I went with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to replace the old, tired S4. The latter no longer receives app updates and even Android 5.0 isn't supported with all apps. Plus, due to its age, I wouldn't want to consider flashing firmware or the like. I'll just use it as-is as a test device until it completely dies.
A bit like my first smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, still works but is horrifically slow, doesn't support 4G and has had ZERO app support for the last few years due to being on Android 2.3. I don't even think sites like XDA Developers managed to get a custom ROM for any new version of Android (what is to be expected with a budget phone from 2012!), and of course now Google Apps such as Gmail won't work and won't let you sign in on any Android 2.3 device (or older).
Currently I am on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ as my main and the Galaxy S7 Edge as my secondary. The S4 just gets used as a test device whenever I feel like it. The Ace Plus doesn't get used anymore. And the ZTE Blade 3 that I mentioned earlier on in this thread (like 4 or 5 years ago) doesn't get used either, as the owner has upgraded to something more modern in order to get app compatibility (trying to get the ZTE Blade 3 working with apps, even when it was new, was a nightmare: it performed worse than the Galaxy Ace Plus, and got blew away by the Galaxy S4).
