We are seeing transatlantic flights using A321 XLRs. Besides the limited range by narrow body, the limited space inside these sub 4 meter diameter planes negatively impacts the comfort for long range travel. AFAIK, C919 has the widest cabin, except the MC-21 even if it is small margins. If the subsequent iterations can increase the range, it can well serve destinations around 5000 nautical miles.
I'm more pointing to the fact that China will need far more narrow body jets than wide body jets. Narrow body jets are also far more necessary for internal movement and logistics, which also contributes to their outsized importance to China.

i have seen these documents last night and Chinese libtards spreading it on twitter.

something fishy about this document. neither have official seal on it and one document with seal clearly looks fabricated. and two Aircrafts mentioned in this documents flying at high intensity.. there are many other things which doesn't match as well..

waiting for further information if these documents are true. we don't even know the actual problem..

remember one thing, monthly average availability rate of C919 still behind in comparison with Airbus/Boeing counterparts.

Quality Control (QC) in civil aviation ensure aircraft meet strict safety and performance standard It involves routine part inspections, functional testing, and regulatory audits. QC inspectors verify that every repair, assembly, and maintenance action strictly follows official manufacturer manuals and engineering.

Quality Control (QC) in civil aviation is heavily dictated by an aircraft's design and production maturity. C919 is still in early stages and evolving program.

Indeed. Maybe ZWZ is trying a new track after the epic humiliation of his beloved Raptors by a pair of knockoff flankers last year. I would recommend checking Weibo account C919成功之路 and see if he has updates.

PS Looks to be legit unfortunately. However it is not something to blow out of proportion. Most of the QC concerns have to do with delayed spare deliveries from upstream companies. Looks like they need to make as much of the plane domestic as possible.

yeah i have seen. this is the supply chain issue and C919 must be localized as soon as possible just to eliminate further bottleneck.. Some issues might arise before delivery of XX component, causing the receiving team to wait for months without receiving the aircraft; others might have minor problems as soon as delivery.

as per 老王RR涡扇花动机, this is major reason COMAC decided to go alone for C929. majority of the parts/components and high end composite sourced from domestic suppliers.

1. C909 failure rate is lower than C919. thanks to maturity of the program.

2. Based on the data, the C919 still lags behind the two established models—though it is in the same league as the 787—whereas the C909, having undergone a longer development period, is in a somewhat better position

C919 is still in development phase like different variants and induction of domestic parts.

The first airframe was delivered in 22'. Operational difficulties rising in the third or fourth year is not unheard of. Everything works when it's new, when the relationship is first established, blah blah blah. It's the 2nd to 5th year that you start seeing problems, and when the actual pain points and the learning process kicks in.

The C919 has had a very good introductory ~5 years coming up. It's been very smooth. Consider other new aircraft types that entered service, 787, A220, A350.

The main challenge is now scaling production and post-sales support. Two huge tasks and the other 2/3s of the airline business. So... lots of ways this can still go wrong.

That shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. There’s a reason Boeing and Airbus don’t like doing clean slate designs. 737 and A320 are now a 60 and 40 year old family of designs. Incremental improvements over a long period of time means greater cumulative reliability engineering.
