There is a Southern Airline plane on the left side, I wonder if that is also a new C919 ready for delivery?

News on the C919-800 variant, posted by @爱旅游爱军事的大俊子 on Weibo.

On December 18th, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the C919-800 Aircraft Joint Innovation Center was held at the COMAC Design and Research Center. Based on the standard C919 model, the C919-800 is an advanced large passenger aircraft developed to meet the robust market demand for single-aisle jets, featuring a lengthened fuselage, enhanced lift capabilities, increased thrust, and improved system functionalities, with a capacity of 200 to 240 seats. The C919-800 Joint Innovation Center, located at the COMAC Design and Research Center, represents the first exploration of deep collaboration between the primary civil aircraft manufacturer and its customers during the early stages of project development.

So basically, the C919-800 would be a counterpart/competitor to the A321neo with the 200-240-seat capacity.

However, what's more interesting is this phrase:
增加推力
increased thrust

I wonder if that means the C919-800 will have CJ1000B with more than ~133kN of thrust? Or will the C919-800 use a more powerful foreign engine (e.g. the -1A variant of LEAP)? The aircraft won't be using derivatives of the WS-20, that's for sure.

Hard to believe that it'll be a true competitor unless it had some kind of redesign with maybe a new composite wing, if they simply just stretched the current C919 you'll be lucky if it even competes with the original A321.
