From Henri K blog C919 2nd prototype made succesfull maiden flight yesterday
This time at least, Chinese aircraft manufacturer
Comac (COMAC) has kept his promise and sent this morning in Shanghai, the second prototype of its average mail program
C919 in the air.
The young Chinese aircraft manufacturer founded in May 2008 announced on the Twitter of its North American subsidiary account that the device registered 10102 or B-001C, should make its first flight here before the end of year 2017, seven months after his elder .
According to
, the second C919 took off from the international airport of Pudong to 10:34 local time as test pilot of the command WU Xin (吴鑫), himself assisted by the copilot XU Yuan Zheng (徐远征), the observer Zou Li Xue (邹礼学) and two test engineers, Wei DAI (戴维) and LIU Li Zu (刘立苏).
During the two hours of flight testing, the crew was able to verify 29 checkpoints, carried on the functioning of various onboard aircraft systems and performance parts, landing gear, navigation systems and communication, as well as motors for acceleration and deceleration.
The main leaders of COMAC and Administration certifications officials of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) have all moved to witness the flight from the ground control room in Shanghai.
The C919 program plans to build a total of six prototypes for flight testing and two for ground tests, like static testing and fatigue. COMAC will join in the coming years with the Chinese giant in aviation, the AVIC group to ensure obtaining different certifications in China as elsewhere, essential for the sale and commercial exploitation of the aircraft.
Besides Yanliang airfield, where the national organization
China Flight Test Establishment (CFTE) Airport Dongying Shengli (东营胜利机场, IATA code: DOY) in Shandong Province has also begun work to expansion and will be served as the second main base for test flights C919.
After dropping the first civilian airliner program
Y-10 in 1983, the C919 with a capacity of 168 seats as standard and launched in September 2008 door again the Chinese aeronautical dream, and thus not only becomes a major industrial project, which has the objective to make the technological level of all participating national actors in the program, but also one of the key symbols of the political-economic model of the country after the massive train program high speed that has made China the country with the largest TGV rail network in the world in less than 20 years, and also an exporter of technology now associated.
Financially supported by public funds and partly by strategically favorable policies, the C919 program quickly generated a fairly comfortable order book launch with a total of 785 aircraft from 27 customers, mainly China-Chinese. This is the Chinese airline
China Eastern Airlines should, hopefully, receive the first C919 2021.
Since May 5, 2017 when the first C919 has made its maiden flight, the 10101 unit totaled "only" 16 test flights, including 9 in November. The program is therefore still at its beginning and will have long way to go before we can start a real business career ...
