To be pedantic its not just 3-6 years. He said they started working on it 4 years ago. 3-6 is on top of that. So more like 7-10 years.

The timing of 3-6 years goes well with COMAC's planning. COMAC needs more than 6 years to deliver confirmed orders just for existing orders from Chinese airlines.

Current confirmed order stands at 851, and Letter of Intend/MOU stands at 318, another 185 with no mention of confirmed or MOU, total is 1,356 C919.

Any additional new orders probably have to wait for 10 years for delivery if all letter of intent/MOU are converted to confirmed orders.
