Is there even a need for steep C919 discounts when the 737 is such a disaster and the A320 is backordered to kingdom come?
Giving discount is normal practice.

And China Eastern Airlines, the launch customer, is COMAC's living advertisement board, so they should get better discounts than others. Every potential buyers will be carefully observing the C919's performance operated by China Eastern Airlines.

). The base is located in Pudong, Shanghai and will occupy an area of 330,000 square meters that include the main production plant and main components warehouse, among other facilities. Once completed, the production base will meet the future demand for C919 aircraft.

second assembly line or second Phase of C919 both are same ..

check out my old massages on this thread. Pudong, Shanghai is the same location where this assembly line is building. work has already begun.. even before this official announcement ..

That's exactly what I meant. You wrote that in 2025 a dramatic increase in aircraft production will begin due to the commissioning of a second assembly line, but here -- in late April 2024 only -- they announced that a design organization has won a tender to develop a construction project recently. Can they build it so quickly?

existing assembly line of C919 has the capacity of 50 units per year ..

this second phase project begun in 2022. way before than this official announcement. earlier it was only major assembly line and few hangers of aircraft now this tender shows, this will be a much bigger facility include other halls like components testing , warehouses , hangers as well.. so definitely it will take little more time.. but current assembly line is enough for sustain the minimum production of C919..

this second phase has capacity of 10 aircrafts in one month and 120 units per year..

so after 2027, COMAC can hit their annual target of 150 aircrafts..

And what is your own forecast for C919 production in 2024 and in 2025? The COMAC's slide above in this thread indicated production forecast of 30 aircraft in 2024 and 54 in 2025 (with production capacity of 50 and 75 respectively), which seems too optimistic...
