Ok our college kids in here I guess this will be a thread for us Seniors to ask you question about your pain staking time you spent on those college applications :D

I just realized that one application is already hard enough to do, and I got at least 5-6 to go... damn those worthless essays
Anyway I think I'm gonna go for these schools
University of Virginia
University of California: Berkeley, LA, SD, Irvine, Davis, and probably SB
University of Michigan: Ann Arbor
University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign
University of Washington

Good thing all the UC's have only one application. What field of study are you interested in?

I don't know whether you know much about Illinois, but it's in the middle of nowhere. Unless you have a car you're going to have to get used to spending your time on campus. It's worth keeping in mind when you decide where you want to go if you get more than one acceptance.

Accounting/business, medicine or engineering.

Yeah, Crazy told me about it, UVA is also in the middle of nowhere :(
I might be doing early decision on it once school start because I need them to give me a transcript, I already have their application done. Just need transcript... I can mail them my SAT II scores once I take it in November.

Wait, don't you need a letter of rec too?

Applying to early decision really screws over the financial aid deal. Though you have better odds, you don't get that much in financial aid.

Since school is gonna start next week the teachers I needed to see were around these days. My counselor is gone on leave (pregnant) until they find a replacement, they won't give me a transcript till school start when they find a person to sub for her...

Isn't it OK to just write 3 essays and use it everywhere? Most schools have the same questions.
Which of these schools are better?
UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
CalTech
UMAA
UIUC

Also, anyone know about New Mexico Tech (15000? That is unconventionally cheap.....)

Caltech is probably the best (it always ranks pretty high, and it has a been voted one of the best financial aid givers)
UC Berkeley and UCSD are pretty much at the same rank depending on your major. UC Berkeley is leaning toward the hard sciences/engineering and UCSD is leaning toward life sciences (at least fromt the brochures I have stacked up in my room :coffee: )

Okay, New Mexico Tech was probably one of those colleges you heard from by mail. Not to insult New Mexico Tech, but if they have to try and gain students by advertising.... I don't think they are worth it.
