There's more accurate translations and there's more meaningful translations. "Mysterious Dragon" is probably more accurate, but its just a bit odd in English, same with "Mighty Dragon" (or its even worse translation, "Powerful Dragon") to be honest.

It might just be better to stick to the pinyin, since that is the only real yet readable (in English) translation of their official names. I don't think any official PLA sources have specified the English name of these platforms anyway.

And in my personal opinion, "Weilong" and "Xuanlong" hit a lot harder in English than "Mighty Dragon" and "Mysterious Dragon" even if you don't have a clue what it means.
The more meaningful translation would be Dark Dragon.

In English, if something is “black” or “mysterious”, one of the better English terms to use would be “Dark”.

玄龙 "Xuan Long" is certainly more impressive to the ear, but I wonder why yellow was chosen for its color. I would have chosen something darker. Anyways. With the addition of vertical slabs in the later footage, could this be a modification of previous CH-7?

AVIC-developed AR-500CJ undergoing tests (from last week):

Looks like it reappeared at Jiangsu Dayang Marine shipyard out of Yangzhou, the same shipyard since its last appearance in 2022. Appears to be in preparation for UAV testing and ISR missions. Its been nicknamed the 'mini drone carrier' and should be able to operate in level 4 waves..

Would it be able to carry crewed aircraft?
