IMO highly unlikely and even lesser likely to be related to these suicide drones since China is well ahead in comparison to Iran and already has its own comparable if not better systems in service.
It says 90 countries are customers and are in line to buy Islamic Iran drones.

The idea of China buying Iranian just makes no sense whatsoever.
China has better drones and can make the cheap drones at a lower cost, almost certainly China can make a better Shahed at lower cost than what Iran would be willing and able to sell them for, and most importantly, Chinese industrial capacity in this kind of manufacturing is unmatched by anywhere else in the world, so it can produce these drones on a scale no one else can even come close to matching.
So China can make better drones, cheaper, faster and in larger quantities than Iran, what actual reason is there for China to buy any such drones from Iran? Especially in such large numbers? If China needs those drones immediately for war, then that’s actually even more reason for China to switch to domestic wartime production mode rather than buy foreign munitions.
When you look at a story and cannot see why someone would do as claimed in that story, then 9 times out of 10, the story is bullshit.

Clearly some courtesy to Iran but also a cheap way to have these without even need to make a production line. Maybe something will be build upon these too to upgrade the design and test it against China own defences.
It's a war tested system, you can compare your stuff with it big time.
