I have heard that this particular UAV is intended for ASW, hence the shark like paint job complete with painted gills.More high-resolution images from Zhuhai...
would there be the possibility of gun armed UAVs to mimic and supplement attack helicopters?

There are quad drones and small helicopter drones with rocket launcher, grenade launcher, and light machinegun, etc.
These will be very useful against Taiwanese defenses. It's hard to imagine SAM sites and runways being repaired while being shot at by armed drones. Machine guns provide persistence that rockets may not.
