A bit off topic, but wow, those Turkish users in the comments are very salty about this... They claim their UAV is far better and that Nigeria should've bought theirs because only 2 foreign countries operate WL2. But the fact is, it's a relatively new vehicle and more countries operate the previous WL1.

I don't know why this bugs me, probably because its very misinformed...

Assuming they are talking about the combat proven TB2, it is not even in the same class as WL2 or even CH4. The latter two are both bigger. TB2 is the same class as CH3 which Nigeria purchased an operated for a while now.
Only a publicity pic, but the guy in the simulator looks like he is pretty familiar with how things work (no one looking over his shoulder), so there is probably some commonalities with their existing drone infrastructure. That means savings for training and infrastructure.

Not only that, the engine and optics for TB2 are currently under embargo.

One last point... Windows 7?! I guess the military OS is still MIA...

The optics are being replaced by locally-produced ASELSAN Common Aperture Targeting System (also installed on T-129 attack helicopter).

Regarding the Rotax 912 (100 hp - 63 kg dry weight), could it be replaced by the locally-produced TEI-PD170 (172 hp - 162 kg dry weight) fitted to ANKA UAV? Dry weight probably an issue?

Photo of a celebratory event for 95835 部队/brigade. Note the unit logo depicts what looks like a WZ-8, or it could be something else. It's too grainy to judge.

The wording suggest they operate in near space/upper atmosphere so yes likely WZ-8.

I remember, some years ago, there was a series of images from Zhuhai (or something similar) where promo materials for Chinese makers' EO sensor balls were photographed. And pretty detailed info was given - size of EO sensors, resolution at this and this range etc.

Does anyone have those images or a link to them?
