Busy day for potentially big news. This was posted in both the UAV and H-20 (scale model) threads on PDF.

Looks like Sharp Sword with engine without after-burner. I say so because the line of the back goes smoothly and quickly downwards compared with the 001 prototype.

A question though, is the SUV in front of it being the tow car? If it is, this aircraft looks very small.

I had the same idea, however we know the first Sharp Sword demonstrator was built by Shenyang/601 Institute & Hongdu whereas this new UAV was spotted at CAC/611 Institute.

There is a good chance that this is a new bird by 611.

The photo was taken at a lower than waist height from a distance (grass and asphalt in the foreground), so the shape of the aircraft certainly looks different from the sharp sword prototype that when have seen from a higher angle. However, it is still enough to see the difference/changes, that is the lower part of the fuselage just below the engine seems bigger than the 001. In other words, if we take the wing plane as the center, this new aircraft has moved the engine to lower position than sharp sword.

The difference could have been of modification to sharp sword. But with the spotting location, it could very well be totally different project by 611.

[Edit]: another stretchy but possible reason is the radio/radar test facility in western Sichuan. So far that is the only test site I know of for stealthy aircraft test. Could they fly the 2.0 sharp sword to CAC for that? Hongdu probably does not have the facility nor experience to do it in Jiangxi except fabrication and basic flight test.
