henri k. wrote about the b2 shaped uav model and mentioned rcs of 0.01 m2. i am not sure of the context though. was that value a claim by the makers of the model ? something they tested? an expected value?

How many of these UAV's are actually serious contenders for PLA contracts? And how many are simply "ideas/proposals"?

A few of them have the markings of universities. So they could be student projects?

I would say majority of them will never be part of PLA. Some may be contenders for some project, though. That is the nature of arms expos - to show off various ideas, concepts, prototypes or demonstrators, even if most of them don't get government funding.

It is actually a good thing, I'd say, to see there is such a proliferation of various ideas and designs, as it points to a healthy and diversified knowledge base. PLA is bound to take some of those designs, perhaps even before they get a chance to be known to the public.

Chengdu Wing Loong(Pterodactyl)-II with 16 missiles.
They really want to impress some potential customers.

I don't think this is Wing Loong/Pterodactyl II -- that was on last page, post #2160, already assembled... apart from the paint scheme, other differences visible between your pics and the Wing Loong II pics are landing gear differences, minor differences in fuselage geometry, among others.

But the two are definitely very similar!

I wonder what this mysterious drone is -- it definitely isn't CH-5, and it definitely isn't Wing Loong II, but all three definitely are bigger than Predator/Wing Loong I weight class and are near or at MQ-9 weight class and size.

I can't believe the industry has developed three different MQ-9 class drones, it seems almost kind of unnecessary. At least the military and export customers will be spoilt for choice...
