They're different technologies.
Otherwise, by that genius logic, the U.S. must be behind Europe in making supersonic turbofan engines since Europe builds bigger turboprop engines.

Indeed Sky Wing II is back ???!!! ... or are these not recent images ??
Interesting is also, that it is again the single engined prototype Sky Wing II and not the latest Sky Wing III from December 2014 with the two small turbofans.
