The fact that perception only dropped 20 percent after two years of Trump going 250% retard is testament to the strength of US soft power.

I agree, but keep in mind that these tariffs were nulled recently.

So essentially, it's just a lost perception for nothing.

Meanwhile, China doesn't invest 1/100th of the US in global perception campaigns.

Soft power was one of the last advantages the US had.

That's like you took out Chinese HSR and EV exports for no reason.

The fact is that the Chinese soft power propanda department pre 2022 should be arrest for corruption or life sentenced for being enemy agents. They either had the creepest men sexpat being the face of china in western social media by funding them or just by the fact of not easily getting Chinese to post in the west to flood the west with chinese vids or just letting all of the OBVIOUS creepy sexpat in to teach english who end up making youtube vids. i remember even one "pro china" twitter guy got busted for being a pedophile or SA.

Furthermore, some stuff they posted for international audience was completely cringe to non chinese. For example, not saying wolf warrior was wrong since you have to much back on aggressor or you will be forever stomped on but the technique you use for Wolf Warrior matters.
