All jokes aside I think Chinese Cuisine is China's #1 soft power.
China's #1 and only soft power is its hard power. Its tech and architecture wow the world and that's all there is to it.All jokes aside I think Chinese Cuisine is China's #1 soft power.
Exactly. But you've heard many many people say they hate China, right? That right there shows how Chinese food will never be soft power.I don't think I've ever heard anyone claim they hate Chinese food.

Ok ok, so Chinese cuisine creates economic hard power, which translates to technological hard power, and that, into "soft" power, or cultural influence. Logic checks out.Perhaps not directly, but it does contribute, especially 20-30 years ago.
Think of what most Chinese illegal immigrants do in the US: work in Chinese restaurants. The money they earn there is then sent back home and directly contributed to China's economic rise in the 90s and early 2000s.
Furthermore, these restaurants gave rise to Chinese grocery stores which directly import products from China, further contributing to the Chinese economy. These grocery stores, of course, hire more Chinese immigrants, who also send money back home. This is an entire economic chain being created due to the attraction of Chinese cuisine.

Damn, if I had more time I'd start a part-time job being a content creator for XHS. I'm already spending all my free time trying to set the record right on Tiktok about China.View attachment 144692
Apparently XHS is testing with rewarding foreign content creators. I've also seen western colour revolution propaganda in english on XHS now e.g., the recent protests all around europe.

Back in November, China Uncensored suddenly lost well over half our views. Almost overnight, we were struggling to get even 60K views on videos that normally got 150K-300K. We couldn’t figure out what was going on.
Was it something we did? Had we messed up somehow? Our YouTube rep told us we just didn’t have enough *engagement* on our videos. In the last 90 days, we lost almost 5 million views. We lost 77% of our YouTube revenue in December. Things were looking dire.
