A lot of news on shipbuilding:

This year China's share of LNG carrier orders has been around 40% compared to Korea's 60%. Significantly better than in 2025, and approaching the peak set in 2024.

High time for more Chinese yards to enter LNG carrier manufacturing, and for them to increase capacity.

(May 27) The second large domestic cruise ship, Adora Flora City, successfully completed all test procedures and safely docked at Pier 5 of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), marking the successful conclusion of its sea trials. This achievement represents the first time in the history of Chinese shipbuilding that a large cruise ship has passed its sea trials in a single attempt! The trials lasted 12 days and 11 nights, during which a total of 149 validation test items were completed, covering 45 commissioning procedures, with a 100% completion rate. The ship is expected to be officially delivered on November 6, with its maiden voyage scheduled for November 22!
During these sea trials, comprehensive tests were conducted on the propulsion system, thrusters, fin stabilizers, power plant system, navigation and communication equipment, radio equipment, automation control system, and various safety management systems. Key technical indicators such as vibration and noise levels, sailing speed, and Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) were simultaneously verified. The trials thoroughly validated the ship's navigation safety, ride comfort, and operational reliability.
