So the Samsung news, if it’s true, is great news.

I have always had a hunch that American equipment isn’t irreplaceable. I believe those companies aren’t like ASML.

America’s strongest move of course would be to ban Huawei from the SWIFT network. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet.

Time is running out for Trump as well.

I wish that Samsung had kept this quiet from us though and not let the media know.

HI Hadoren

I think its intentional, the recent visit of a Samsung family member to CHINA is letting Washington know of its intent.

Is it? Clearly the therapist hasn't done anything about the multiple personality disorder.
Yes, but he's a therapist working with a very flawed human, not a software company wiping your computer clean. Making any progress at all, let alone getting an old man who is disillusioned with how little he's achieved in his life to realize that he's just not that important, will never be, and doesn't have to be, is quite an impressive job as is. And also, I think he's done something with anger management as well! If the guy even cured multiple personality disorder along with all that, he'd be in a textbook!

Don't get too excited my man. US will change sanction to anyone even if they Use nothing from the US but is selling any chips to Huawei will be sanctioned as well. It's wack a mole. Then if Huawei builds 100% of their own parts and even digs there own minerals from the ground. The US will then say anyone who's buys Huawei 5G will get sanctioned. That's why I'm not optimitic Huawei will survive unless there is a political solution between China and the US.
By your reasoning, then any country or company trading with China will be sanctioned. That means sanctioning the whole world, including American companies.

hi WTAN

no I mean this

Four, domestic 11nm lithographmachine will be off-line at the end of the year?

Recently, there have been rumors on the Internet that Shanghai Microelectronics is expected to launch the first SSA800/10W photolithography machine using ArF light source in December 2020.
The Author says the SSA800/10W is actually the SMEE 28nm Resolution Litho machine which can do 7nm with Multi patterning with delivery in 2020/21.
The Author says the 11nm smallest node description is not accurate.
Everything else about core component suppliers is reliable and correct.

Hi WTAN

Thanks for the info, I'll be waiting for more good news from you, SUPERDOG and SKYWATCHER on CHINA SEMICONDUCTOR. We live in interesting time, the challenges for China is huge, its exciting at the same time frightening whether China can pull it off.

This article draws the same conclusion as the Asia Times article:
What they will do is further undermine American technological competencies. U.S.-made equipment will be tainted by political risk even more than it has been since the first controls on sales to Huawei were announced a year ago. Rather than building up U.S. industry, the incentives built into the export controls will encourage American producers to move manufacturing and development offshore.

Even if we have the best chips and tech in the world, if the US tells anyone who dares to buy it, they would end up on the entity list. NO ONe will buy it, because for a company, it's not worth defying the US government., who has extraterritorial laws which cover every inch on earth.

Trump is about to make an example with Huawei. Kill the chicken to scare all the Monkeys. You kno there is an American saying called "How many South American governments do we have to overthrow for everyone to know that socialism doesn't work?"

A fancy lithography machine won't make even a dent in the problem we are facing. Most people are in denial about the danger we are about to face. Given China's track record of geopolitical blunders and lack of experience with great power competition and weak starting position. I don't feel comfortable at all that we can come out of this with anything even resembling a win.

Blind faith is basically denial. We will end up facing the music soon enough.

unbounded cowardice and despicable cowards!

someone like this surfaces from time to time. just give you two recent examples to show how powerful the America is: 1. they wanted Taiwan as an observer in the WHO, despite of all Trump's tantrums and threats, they could not have their way; US and UK put China to the UN Security Council for HK, they never received a hearing.
