Primer on the 3 fabs formed by CEC, Shenzhen gov't & Huawei in Shenzhen that will start production over the next 2 years

1 for advanced process, 1 for memory chips and 1 for mature process.

Given CXMT's struggles to reach 17nm, I think Huawei might produce the most advanced DRAMs in China in a few years.

ChatGPT leaks Samsung chip secrets and more​

The Samsung information that ChatGPT has been able to share includes semiconductor equipment measurement data and product yield information.

Three incidents of information leakage had in its device solutions business premises, or Samsung DS, which overseas the research and development of semiconductors.

The incidents were confirmed as employees' input of corporate information into ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by U.S. company OpenAI, was allowed at Samsung DS since March 11.

It added that information such as "equipment measurement and yield data were sent intact to U.S. companies" when employees were seeking code optimization from the chatbot, and another employee used it to generate meeting minutes.

As a result of such events, Samsung, SK Hynix, LG and many other companies are scrambling to either ban or draw up guidelines for the use of ChatGPT and other AI chatbot services in the workplace.

The Korea Times seemed to confirm Samsung’s mishaps and said that a message on an in-company bulletin had been posted calling attention to the misuse of ChatGPT. SK Hynix has blocked the use of ChatGPT on its internal computer network and employees must obtain security approval before using ChatGPT.
