A good primer on why China's simple system of STANDARDIZATION makes building of new subways, metros far more economically viable and smart of metro expansion. The video is made by a very good Canadian young man that's very into mass transit system and this report he made is educational and most importantly fair and objective plus free from the usual China bashing we've come to expect from a westerner.

Some old news, but one that didn't really see the light of day. CRRC is currently in the process of developing a high speed train called CR450 which aims to achieve an operating speed of 400 km/h, improving aerodynamics and energy efficiency, as well as reducing the braking distance required to stop. CR400BF-J-0511 is being used as a test bed for these new technologies for the future CR450 EMU.
