is the base large enough to support and house 3000 to 4000 sailors that come visiting?
I mean the sailors would surely prefer the facilities and comfort of land quarters once their ships land at the base, right ?

China is claimed to want to refurbish an airstrip in the nation of Kirbati, 1,800 miles (~2880 km) from Hawaii.

IF this is true, it would be a very strategic location for the Chinese military.
