Harmony OS is possibly coming to the PC too. I think Huawei maybe going the route of Apple... becoming a Semi-Luxury electronic consumer brand that makes its own hardware/semiconductor/os controlling the user experience end to end and it's own destiny. This might be there only route as the US could try squeezing them on intel chips for their PC and windows licenses in the future..

Deepin/UOS or OpenEuler, which one do you think has the brighter future? I am leaning towards Deepin, but if Huawei can somehow merge HarmonyOS with EulerOS it could become very popular as a desktop OS, at least in China.

I don't know, from what I gathered HMOS next will be a complete cut from android and Linux kernel. Will ship with it's own micro kernal like the vision they presented 3 or 4 years ago.

I expect that the micro kernel will trickle down into OpenHarmony and the happs format will be the packaging format for chinese apps.

Hey @zzz

Hi I just saw your post about how to use google services on Huawei. You said Gbox + something else worked for every app except for google maps and duo? Then you said 出境易 sandbox made everything work?

Yes, now I have everything I need on my Mate 50. I am based in the US and travel quite a bit to different countries. I just tried 出境易, and it somehow allows / channels installation from G Play, so maybe I don't even need Gbox anymore. The "something else" is APKpure, which curates and hosts apk files they get off of G Play; I use it with reprehension, but so far so good; maybe 出境易 can replace that as well.
