So this graphic is saying the KJ-500(ish) only has a range of 300km???
Could possibly be referring to comparing export versions.

The context is unfortunately missing here. Detection range or tracking range? Against what types of targets?
I think even tracking range would be a disappointing number. Hopefully against stealth targets, might be more reasonable to my lay sensibilities.

I think it's highly probable the indicated range is against stealth and small targets (helicopters and cruise missiles), as indicated by the graphic on the right side.
That doesn’t look anything like a KJ-500…
That's why I said "ish". The tail is certainly the KJ-500, though it lacks the nose of one and doesn't have props either (nor turbofan nacelles for that matter). The dish does look like the tri-faceted KJ-500 radar, though.
