T-20 UAV, capable of rocket assisted launch and parachute recovery as well as runway takeoff and landing. LOS remote control radius is 300km, satellite remote control range exceeds 1000km. Capable of ground attack. Carries with radar and optical recon payloads at the same time.

I've been wondering what engines does large Chinese drones/UCAV use? I don't think China has any turbofan engines within the expected thrust range for large drones(~5tf for large drones such as CH-7/WZ-7/GJ-11/GJ-21)

China have plenty of domestic options..

remember last year in Zhuhai air show. they introduced 6 tons ''Jetank'' UAV. it is powered by WS-9 turbofan engine.

WZ-7 Soaring dragon powered by WP-13 turbojet from AECC Guizhou Liyang. this engine is borrowed from J-7.. WP-13 turbojet have many variants.

GJ-11 powered by a smaller turbofan engine from AECC Guizhou Liyang. type is unknown

CH-7 likely to powered by smaller turbofan engines but type is unknown.

They will eventually replace it with a turbofan soon I assume? Turbojets are notoriously inefficient at subsonic speeds. IMO it seems weird that they choose an old turbojet for a HALE drone which I presumed to require highly efficient turbofan engines for longer range. Or was there a specific reason that WZ-7 might require a turbojet? Maybe extreme high alt performance?

honestly, there is not much information available about these smaller engines. but i have heard, WP-13 has already been replaced with turbofan engine but again, we don't have any authentic information.. even if they didn't replace but it will eventually replace with turbofan.
