Of course there are issues, no one is denying that, we just hate how they twist and bend the facts every time to accentuate the negative. From what we know the Saudis are happy with the system, happy enough to give awards for successful intercepts and NORINCO support staff but the article is written in a way that makes the system sounds like it is completely useless, which is far from the fact. The fact that they times it one or two days after the showcase of OW-5 and LY-1 indicates that it is an attempt to smear. This is not even going into technical impossibilities like how a laser takes half an hour to successfully engage a target. It doesn’t make a lick of sense and the usual suspects all treat it like the gospel.
actually, you are not getting my point here.

My point is that laser just 3 years later is so much better. And same with power generation tech.

Here's something to give people a feel for how far China's laser technology has come. This is a Raycus 200kW laser (think for a second about the implications of a commercial 200kW laser) cutting through 800mm of steel:

It's like the supposed situation with Jordan (or was it Iraq?) and the CH drones. A fabrication that scum latch on to to cope with their dying hegemony like a drowning man clutches at straws. Actually, that's not a good analogy - the drowning man with the straw has far better odds than American hegemony does.

Iraq and Jordan drones.
052D not having fire extinguishers.
Nuclear submarine sinking in the Yellow Sea.
055 not having AESA radars.

The list goes on and on, even from supposedly “credible” analysts.

I am honestly kinda fed up with all pieces of propaganda being discussed that much. If anything we should expect much more going forward because the modern US all about image management.
