I have seen photos of them using this laser cannon to shoot at moving FPV debris, and the burned holes are very small, directly damaging the battery.
Moreover, I think you have overlooked the thermal conductivity of steel. When a spot is melted, the surrounding metal has also been heated to its melting point. Additionally, the laser lacks impact force, which means that the molten metal fluid, as long as it hasn't flowed away, will continue to absorb heat, raising its temperature above the melting point and further melting the surrounding metal.

An unknown new variant of Mengshi-III. Might be a mobile laser weapon.
Spotted again and possibly in service. Does anyone know for certain if this is a laser weapon?
It seems like it might not be too long before laser weapons of various capabilities have proliferated to the major militaries around the world and are in front line service.
