Could have been just a test bed, could still be in development. Could have simply been a mockup.
We know they are still working on the 40mm gun. It showed up in the big show.

The armor of these vehicles has no problem stopping 7.62mm full-power rounds, but it is not known if there are able to withstand direct hits from 12.7mm or RPGs.

12.7mm maybe.
but an RPG requires more. Slat armor would offer some protection against that but a Light weight Hardkill APS would do the job

These are 4x4 utility vehicles not normally classified as IFV

But can the original 1980s HUMVEE stop a 12.7mm/.50 ball or AP round?
