glad their thinking about it, obviously a in field modification, that cage is attached with what looks like wire and rope.

A closer look at the mesh.
Seems too flimsy to stop FPV though…
Probably for small quad-copters.
Or maybe it is just there as a training aid. So that soldiers get used to operating the vehicle with it attached ?
Wire mesh should be OK. You don't want it to be tought either.
