But that would also mean there is no engine in the WS-10 series that goes over 140 kN (14300 kgf). Early stories about a 147/152 kN WS-10G seems to be a dud or fan-fiction.

Pretty sure there is a limit on how much improvement can be wrestled from the current architecture without starting from scratch. That's what WS-15 is for

It is Ni(Nickel) based alloy a Ni added impurity to increase creep resistant
Of course this is dual technology what do you think of the recent announcement of new military engine trial. It must be because they improve the blade manufacturing It is the single impediment for Chinese engine development as the article said "Can design the blade but cannot achieve high reliability blade"

Extreme Manufacturing in this context is a synonyms to micro/nano manufacturing/robotics. The article is about making small holes on single crystal blade of Ni based alloy without causing micro fracture etc. If the laser causes too much heat it will melt the metal, the solidification then cause new formation of crystallinity and destruction of the blade. There were reports about secrete projects of adding impurities to the surface of single crystal blades. It seems to me China is not there yet, at least not publicly admitted.

I don't recall any turbine manufacturig involve nano technology. admitted or not China is the only third country to produce WS 10 class Turbofand that should said something
And only 1 known failure sofar. We now had flurry of new improve engine trial announcement. That is the proof

The so-called micro/nano robotics is a specialized type of CNC/laser that China learned from the Japanese, not the same as "nano technology" we usually read from the news. Unlike what people say, China is now not weak in single crystal material (read DD9, DD10, DD22) but the article said they can't make tiny holes without destroying the blade until now. If that is correct this is a big deal for WS15.
