Personally I would take most articles from Zhonghua and Tiexue with a grain of salt. Not that there are not high quality articles (like the one on tiexue which leaked the first J-20 picture) but the professionalism on those two forums are far lower than those of CD and Feiyang.

This article is on more than one website, I don't know from where it originated. It seems realistic to me, what I am asking is if there are any red flags in the text. I can't read Chinese so I cannot tell.

The article sounds legit.

It covers a lot of internal technology which a fanboy wouldn't be able to write.

The interesting part is the nozzle - it has 16 nozzle panels instead of 18 on WS-10A. A lot of people thought J-20 flew with AL-31F because the nozzle had 16 panels. If this article is true, then J-20 flew with WS-10B and that will make a lot of people happy.

Performance is 138 kN wet thrust, 86 kN military thrust.

T/W ratio is 8.5:1

I don't know if my data is right, but ain't a bit low??? Aprox thurst from wikipedia:
Plane..................F-22 (2x)...F-35(1x) J-20 (2x)
Dry thrust...........104,5........125.........86???
Afterburner.........155,7........191.........138¿??¿

That doesn't seem right

No, the data works out just fine. The WS-10B or WS-10G (whatever it is called) that is powering the J-20 right now is only a temporary engine. Ultimately, the WS-15 will be used, which will be more comparable to the engines in the F-22.

Ohh thanks, that makes more sense but also makes a big IF ...
would be cool if they got something comparable with the powerplant of the F-35 x2!!!!!!!.... but that's a long shot :(
