Australian companies not giving up on China. IMO the import bans are self defeating.

Are Australian companies expecting Chinese to just wash the taste of bitch out of their mouths?

The Australian companies would do better lobbying the Australian government to stop the pogroms and hate crimes against Chinese Australians; they would do better lobbying and funding politicians who aren't racists who question 4th generation Chinese Australians on their 'loyalty', they would do better preventing the military-intelligence community of Australia from hijacking the political process.

And i say this as a taiwan born Australian citizen.

so you want the Aussies to buy advance weapons with money earned from China, and later on attack China with those weapons?

They will get the money for that sooner or later and it does not matter. When you put a ban on foot stuff, the Chinese consumer takes the pain with increased costs and that leads to inflation. You want to keep the vaunted low Chinese costs of living down as much as you can because that is pivotal to the stability of the economy and the upward mobility of the population. Rising food costs do not improve the people's support for the CCP either.

I would say they actually do that but Australia has different factions. You should not weaken the factions that are on your side.

I won't stop the import of food stuff but instead, I may put a ban of Chinese tourism and students to Australia.

I don't agree that these factions are necessarily on China's side; these factions are on the side of money, they couldn't give a shit about the plight of Chinese students let alone Chinese Australians.
Take any aussie firm that does any major business-pretty much the entire FIRE sector: finance, insurance and real estate. All of these industries have relied on the Chinese clientele to become fabulously wealthy these past few years yet what has that earned China and Chinese people? Nothing but contempt and jealousy.
Sure, these aussie firms will fight for Chinese business and clients but won't do or say anything about discrimination against Chinese students in Australian universities eg medical schools or promotion within these same FIRE industries beyond lower level middle management. All the key positions of power and influence are reserved for white anglos with a few asian/indian faces to convey the image and illusion of diversity.
Most glaringly, where were these voices when ASPI and their american agents in oz were advocating for race war and targeting Chinese australians? I'd say they were joining the same voices to kick out chinese money and influence. Well they got their wish. Unlike the most rabid fevered dreams of white anglo racists, China would never have made australia kowtow to China but given the conduct of this past year, i'd say some kowtowing and then some is in order.

What China friendly faction? You are behind the times. They have been clubbed into submission.

I wonder if there would be any Australian politicians left if they applied this law to all foreign influence peddling equally. Looking at you America.
