Also, correct me if I'm wrong but the Rhodium group doesn't have any good China analyst correct? I remember someone telling me that they didn't even have a senior Chinese analyst (as in, a Chinese person) until like 2024 or something.
Their research is decent
first of all this Rhodium group MIC2025 report contain data up to 2022-2023.. which is consider pretty old. even a one week old news looks outdated these days.. it means they don't have access to latest statistics.
for example, in CNC machine tools category, they have data up to 2021.. which is pretty outdated.
in 2024, High end machine tools category, Beijing Jingdiao Group , KEDE CNC and Tuopu CNC wiped out all competition in mainland and occupied all top 3 spots. they didn't even mention any one of top3 Chinese companies in their entire report.. LOL
there are many more mistakes in this report.
Yeah, it uses old out of date stuff but i still thought some of the info was helpful
They're better than your average US thinktank in that they use lots of quantitative data instead of pure vibes. Still not particularly good though.
more foreign tourism is coming and China has lifted visa free travel to GCC countries. Very logical moves. Although, foreign tourism is still a very small % of China's service sector economy.
Very cool, it's not just the money they bring in as tourists though, its also the nice stories about China they will bring home to their friends back home, changing the narrative one anecdote at a time.
First time.meme Like if they did any work in the sector it would've been pretty obvious by 2020/2021 via publicly available information that CNCs were no longer an issue.
