Morgan Stanley raised its outlook for China's GDP growth in 2023 from 5.4 percent to 5.7 percent.
I would caution everyone to not label these forecasts as made by 'Morgan Stanley' or "Goldman Sachs" or "JP Morgan".
They are made by the China Economics team at said firms.
For example, Xing Ziqiang (Robin) leads the Morgan Stanley China Economics team, and has a PhD in Economics from China Academy of Social Sciences. Additionally, he is part of the CF40 Think Tank in China.
JP Morgan team is led by Haibin Zhu - I happen to have first hand knowledge that he was out on the street telling everyone that the PLAAF was unable to track Pelosi's plane when she flew into Taiwan.
It is clear who is more credible.
