If such a law would apply globally, this would just promote alternative app stores to break the google play store/apple app store monopolies. Chinese phones should be shipped with alternative app stores preinstalled so google and apple can't take such a huge cut of app sales and in app purchases anymore
Now that you are saying, I assume by making the likes of genshin impact and whatever new major mobile game title coming from China into Chinese mobile platform or OS exclusive would really boost the global sales of Chinese brands, along with a boost for the soft power thing people were arguing about.

Hefei in China's Anhui province has been promoting integrated circuit development over recent years with a focus on chips in storage, display drivers, smart home appliances and automotive electronics.

Local government also issues special policies to build up the integrated circuit supply chain, offering new momentum for economic growth by giving full play of the industrial cluster effect.

At present, the city's IC industry has gathered about 350 enterprises, with the output value increased 59.5 percent year-on year, from January to April in 2022.

That looks like a facility for dicing wafers and packaging chips.

According to Cotton's office, digital yuan could provide the Chinese government with "real-time visibility into all transactions on the network, posing privacy and security concerns for American persons who join this network."
More projection. Since the US does that with SWIFT they expect China to do the same.

You cannot have an alternative app store or install apps not in the store in apple phones. I think China needs to push an anti-trust case against Apple.

China to launch trillion-dollar gas pipeline expansion
Eyeing more Russian imports By 2025, China plans to extend its massive gas pipeline grids to 163,000 kilometres, requiring capital expenditure of up to $1.9 trillion
13 May 2022 13:56 GMT

China is on the verge of a spending spree to expand the country’s natural gas pipeline grids over the next four years to transport greater volumes to more clients and utilities. Ding Zhimin, the former deputy director of the Policy & Law Department of the National Energy Administration, told a webinar late last week that China will spend 11 trillion to 13 trillion yuan (US$1.6 trillion to US$1.9 trillion) to double the nationwide gas network to 163,000 kilometres by 2025.

Extravagant spending pledges on gas infrastructure reflects China’s strategy to prioritise gas consumption, considered the most effective bridge fuel to bring emissions down before renewable energy can play a more significant role in the economy. One of the pipelines under study is the second Russian gas import pipeline expected to extend to China via Mongolia from Russia’s prolific gas fields in the Yamal-Nenets region, spanning 6700 kilometres.

The pipeline, dubbed Sila Sibiri 2, is billed as offering capacity to deliver 50 billion cubic metres per annum of gas to the Chinese market. In February, Gazprom also committed to transport 10 Bcm of gas per year from Russia’s Sakhalin Island for the period of 30 years to China, with the project codenamed Sila Sibiri 3.

This is in addition to the 38 Bcm of pipeline gas exports per year by 2025 through the existing Sila Sibiri pipeline under a contract that was inked in 2014. Russia is also considering boosting the throughput capacity of the Sila Sibiri pipeline to 44 Bcm from 38 Bcm, according to Liu Qian, executive vice director of the Russia-Central Asia Research Centre-attached China Petroleum University.

Investment and construction will be spearheaded by China Oil & Gas Pipeline Grid (PipeChina), a governmentowned entity established in 2020 by grouping the oil and gas pipelines initially owned by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Sinopec and China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Russia planning new gas transit pipeline to China Gazprom to deliver more pipeline gas to China Upstream is a part of NHST Media Group AS. The entity purports to centralise operation of the nation's massive oil and gas infrastructures including pipelines, terminals and storage tanks.

China has issued a circular on waiving this year's interest of government-subsidized student loans and allowing the deferred repayment of loans, the Ministry of Finance said Friday.

College students graduating in and before 2022 are exempt from paying the interest on loans this year, according to the circular jointly released by the ministry and three other government agencies.

These students can also apply to defer this year's repayments of the student loan principal for one year, said the circular, adding that no penalties or compound interest will be charged.

The measures have been taken to relieve employment pressure for graduates with financial difficulties and optimize employment services for the students, according to the ministry.

A State Council executive meeting held on May 11 made a decision to exempt student loan interest and allow deferred repayments for college students graduating in and before 2022.

More than 2 billion yuan (about 297 million U.S. dollars) in loan interest is expected to be waived and deferred repayments are forecast to top 5 billion yuan, benefitting over 4 million college students.

China's lithium-ion battery output topped 95 GWh during March and April as the strong growth momentum of the new energy vehicle sector continued to fuel expansion, official data showed Friday.

Specifically, the output of lithium-ion batteries used for power storage and for powering new energy vehicles stood at more than 10.5 GWh and 34.6 GWh, respectively, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

During the two-month period, China's exports of lithium-ion batteries were valued at 42.3 billion yuan (about 6.28 billion U.S. dollars).

China has been the world's biggest consumption market for lithium-ion batteries for five consecutive years. Last year, the industry's total production value exceeded 600 billion yuan, according to the ministry.

China said on Friday that it would further facilitate foreign institutional investments in its bond market and coordinate the opening-up of the interbank and exchange bond markets.

The country aims to increase the diversity of investors, while improving the liquidity and stability of its bond market, according to a statement jointly issued by the central bank and top securities and foreign exchange regulators.

Measures will be taken to support qualified overseas institutional investors in investing directly or through connectivity in the exchange bond market, and in independently choosing trading venues.

"The investment procedures will be simplified, and market access will be extended to the exchange bond market," said an official with the People's Bank of China, adding that foreign institutional investors will enter the market as legal persons.

The statement will come into effect from June 30, 2022.

The central bank and the foreign-exchange regulator will issue regulations on fund management, unify cross-border fund administration and make clarifications in terms of registration, fund exchange, cross-border income and expenses, and foreign-exchange hedging.

No wonder US Trade Representative Katherine Tai is objecting so strongly against the elimination of tariff on Chinese imports advocated by Secretary of Treasury Yellen and Fed Chairman Powell. She is loosing her leverages to get China to buy more farm products from the US.

All she can do now is just sit and watch as China shifts more and more of her US purchases to the global south and increases her international influence at the same time. At the end of the day, her effectiveness and position as US Trade Representative will be at risk, and may end up losing her job as the sacrificial lamb come election time.
